Got Leaks. Looked at the usual suspects. Need more ideas.
Discussion
It's winter again so my Griff has started leaking again.
There is a small trace of water getting in through the door seal, but I think this is because I replaced it and the flattened sections at the bottom have come unglued. (Please remind me exactly why they need to be there...
)
This is not the main reason why the passenger footwell fills up with water. The big fault seems to be coming from air direction flap section of the heater box. I removed this last night (it's nice to have a modular heater system!) and the water comes from the hole in the inner bulkhead leading to the screen vents.
So how is the water getting in to the screen vent channel? The screen is fairly new and there's no sign of leaks where it is bonded in. It looks like there's not much chance of water getting in through the wiper spindles. The top seam of the outer bulkhead is covered by the bonded screen, so I doubt it's that. The lower seam is well within the engine bay, and looks to be good. This leaves the corners and the holes for the bonnet hinges. These seem OK, but I noticed the driver's side needed to have the sikaflex replaced a couple of weeks ago. The passenger side looked OK, but it may not be.
Any more ideas? This leak has the potential to drive me mad.
There is no water ingress into the driver's side, so this tends to rule out clutch and brake access reservoir sealing.
Thanks.

Dave, when I had bother with leaks and blamed the air con (thanks for your advice btw) the water was actually coming in from the seam that runs under the wiper motor. Just remove the motor and you'll see it, mine looked intact but it just peeled off. A quick run of the sikaflex and no more leaks.
O/T how is the new heater set up performing?

Thanks.
The new heater is providing about 4 times the volume of air to the screen now. Just what I need to demist a car full of water! The "screen" setting is now so noisy it risks drowning out the engine noise
Temperature control is good too - it goes cold after its been hot, but there's a bug somewhere preventing it from achieving full hotness. I have a couple of ideas but no time to check it works yet.
