Buying car, help needed!!
Discussion
This is my dilemma, my wife’s company car is due to be returned at the end of February. I have trolled the classifieds and Top Marques etc, but can’t seem to find the right car. So I need some inspired ideas as to what I could look for please. I have looked at RS4/6 but price means it would be too old, RS focus but too chavy for me, Merc AMG but same as the Audi, Renaultsport wife doesn’t like Renault!, so need some help,
Our criteria is:
1) Needs to be 5 door
2) Needs to have some go, lost would be good
3) Preferably hatchback than estate
4) No more than 3 years old
5) Price ceiling of around 20k
6) Can’t be red or white,.....don’t ask!!

Been into Marsh Barton,(trading estate with more dealers per sq mile then anywhere in Europe),to have a look around. The Audi A3 seemed to go down well also A4 avant 3ltr td. BMW 330 td touring looked nice, but right on our limit. As it was getting dark we stopped into Seat, looked at the Leon, has anyone tried one??? seem to get more go for buck, but is the quality up to it??. Hadn't given the Subaru legacy a thought, do they still do the hot one, will have a look.

Ok it's not a hatchback but it does have a very good sized boot and 5 doors and knocks the spots off the scooby in all depts, reliability is second to none, so before you make your choice do go and test drive an EVO 8 or 9.
Steve
Know where you are coming from Steve, the EVO is a great car, I had a Evo 2 many years ago, only thing is I don't think the dog would approve of the boot!! Steve

Narrowed down to poss subaru sti 5 door(new shape)or poss Mazda 3 mps, go for dough the Mazda takes some beating. RS4 would be my choice, but can't justify the extra 10k plus.
"New Age" wagons (5 door) are very thin on the ground?Mike.
