My new V6 has an annoying habit of flashing its engine management light at me at low speeds. Infact, today it cut almost all power when I was sat at some traffic light shaving just come off the motorway. It runs fine on motorway or anywhere above 20mph.

The woman I bought it off had had the same problem and had just spent £100 on having a new oxygen sensor fitted but to no avail it seems. As the garage that fitted it is about 100 miles away I've no inclination to take it back there so if the good people of Pistonheads have no other obvious solution I will book it in to a local Alfa specialist.

Secondly, how much is a new front grille going to cost me - looks like its been driven into a kerb at some point as the front lip of the bumper is currently held on with some duct tape at the bottom which doesn't look particularly attractive!

ps: Would people recommend Roberts Aerospace - he's the nearest Alfa specialist I can find to Winchester/Southampton?

Could be the MAF, very common problem (dodgy German parts!). Also wonder if your crank sensor is beginning to show signs of dying, experienced similar symptoms on my JTD recently.

When you say grill, I assume you mean the full bumper? Second hand bumper will be anywhere between £80 and £200, I'd wait for one the same colour to cut down on paint costs wink

thanks for that, useful stuff.

bumper wasn't as bad as first thought, clearly been scraped but was not duct tape - actually a plastic bag which was stuck to the front and got coated in road muck! bumper still a bit ropey at the bottom but only if you are really looking for it!

also would like to find a new gearknob, mine has had the numbers worn away on top. on the hunt for some shiny new badges too! smile
