Alfa 156 -v- Navman

I have an Alfa 156 and a Navman satnav but they are not getting along together!
The charger doesn't work in the cigarette lighter socket. I know the charger works in another car, and the car socket works with the lighter. It looks like the metal centre pin of the charger isn't touching the contact of the socket.
Unless i'm being daft, this must have cropped up before. So is there a fix?
