oil and water changes on e46 330d

first...oil - been getting work done at indys for last few years and i dont think they have reset the service timer - so im going to look back through my receipts to see when it last had an oil and filter change. how many miles / years should this been done???

Also - ive never bothered opening up the water reservoir as ive heard you can cause problems as its a presurised system!?!? i dont know how much anti freeze is in there (bit late now) but maybe it could do with a flushing / change. My old man's bm has had problems with the water system so i've never wanted to dabble with it unnecessarily.
