Duncan me old mate,

I'm going to try and make it down to see you and David so we can talk organisation. Karen and I will be arriving early to set up camp, but with such a big group this time, a little planning seems to be in order.

Steve.

Steve - David has got some top events planned for this Spring which I'm hoping to get along to. If you came down to one of them you could have some fun as well as a planning session. I'm sure we can put you up somewhere if you want to stay over.

David, Bristol and Devon/Cornwall are arriving St Malo at 10pm which is a crap time to arrive, but it gives the Tivs from the far end of Cornwall a chance to make the Lunchtime ferry in Portsmouth.

The majority of Surrey are arriving Wed pm but I'm not sure if they are going on the chunnel or a ferry. Over to you Steve.....

So you are all meeting in Portsmouth on the Wednesday?

We may have to pop down to see you off. I live in Portsmouth but am not leaving for Lm till Early Thursday morning.

Having said that I seem to remember packing the car up until 4am last year so I might miss you unless I manage to get in done a bit earlier!

I bloody hope not!
(Its a great car but has no sense of occasion about it!)

I'll either be in my own sports car or my bro's 200SX).
When I know which I'll post a pic of it, stickers and all!

Hi where is St Malo? I did a multimap search and could not see anything South that looked right.

If you are all catching the lunch time ferry, which ferry is it and what time are you departing?

I am looking to hopefuly convoy to Le Mans for several reasons; I have not been before, it would be fun and my brother has never been in a convoy before so he would enjoy the experience.

Any detail you can give would be great.

St Malo is on the coast North-ish from Le Mans about 2-3 hours drive (depending on how you drive ). It'll be listed as a long crossing on the ferry booking sites.

Steve.

Edited to say: It might be worth discussing this a bit more on the Surrey Le Mans egroup David. I'll invite Duncan so he can contribute for those in the South West.

David, I see you are Surrey. If you email SteveT (the Surrey RO) I should think you will have problems joining his convoy down on the Wednesday. I think they are going via the Chunnel. If you really want to go via Portsmouth you will be welcome to join our convoy - email me for ferry details.

I see you have a Griff, if you already have a Maison Blanch camping pass then you will be very welcome to camp with Surrey, Bristol, Devon and Cornwall region Tivs. SteveT should be able to deal with that as he is staking out our pitches! The more the merrier.

For general newbie advie, email me or Steve.

Hi Duncan, I am not a newbie, only a Le Mans Virgin, and I do know Steve & Karen quite well. I was looking for a convoy as it is fun to drive and my brother has never been in one and I also know that Steve & Karen are going quite a bit earlier than most of us to make sure things are sorted out for when the Surrey people arrive. I am booked with the Surrey group via the club so all that is sorted.

Thanks for the suggestions through.

David - Ooops, that's was a terrible post I made earlier.

I meant thet there should be NO problems joining the Surreny convoy as you are a local.

I also meant Le Mans Virgin when I said newbie.

I'm watching the Surrey Yahoo Group and it's good to see them getting into gear about their ferry bookings and convoys. I presume that one of the posts was your ?

All the best - Duncan
