I keep seeing "national delivery" for cakes (cupcakes, birthday cakes etc) and now I feel the need to know how to do it. Is it specialist packaging, and if so, where does one get it?

Can you really just chuck a nicely decorated cake into the post and expect it to arrive in a reasonable state?

If anyone knows, PH knows.

You just need a lot of polystyrene packaging, the solid stuff not the figure of eight stuff.

Each ingredient individually followed by a letter with the recipe in it.

Sendng a carton of eggs may be better than sending eggs in shells.

Why don't you order a cake for delivery and then you can see the packaging used?

Why don't you just send me a cake a day and I'll let you know when you've got the packaging right?

Obviously it'll need to be lots of different types so we can be sure that a Chocolate Sponge travels the same way as a Swiss Roll. Hell, I'll even dispose of them for free at my end - my treat. wink

Freeze the cake, pop it in a box surrounded by those styrofoam chips so it can't move about and have it delivered by temp controlled vehicle.
