Hi All,

I need an E39 M5 Rear wheel to buy or borrow for a month or so while mine is reconditioned. Anyone have one or even a whole set for sale? Needs to be the correct smoked chrome as standard if possible.

Many thanks,

Mike.

Ebay is your best bet - but somewhere like 'the wheel specialist' will do them in a day for you. Thats how I got round it.

Mike - can't help you out with a rear but I have a set of 4 8J x 17 style 66's for sale. I've bult up a set of extra rims for winter tyres for my M5 and the 8J style 66's are the reccomended winter wheel and the only BMW rims that will clear the calipers. I had to over-buy to put together a set and have 4 spare. PM me if you're interested.

Did they get the finish right? I'm after getting mine refurbed at some point, but want to make sure I keep the original chrome shadow finish. Bit wary of them coming back silver biggrin

The quality is Lepsons work is good - they did a good job recreating the hadow chrome effect on a mates M5 wheels and the quality of the work wa superb.

All the places i tried referred to it as impossible, and I do note that many cars or sale have "silver" wheels and that worried me.

Apparently they have to paint them gloss black, dust with chrome then lacquer, this seemed too much effort for many of the people I called.

There is a powder coat that exactly matches which I think is my plan but that entails running the car with no wheels for a short while and i'm not sure my disks will take it.
