Ok then fellow Cerbera Owners - What are people using ??
The Cerbera will emerge from the Garage in a month or so, and I want to buy an outdoor cover for her. There are times during the "Summer" when I can not bothered to put the car in the garage and want to leave it on the drive to save time the following morning.
I am therefore in the market for a tailored outdoor cover for the Cerb, that is capable to deal with bad weather if need be - Lets face it, this is the British summer we are talking about and a perfect Sunny warm Saturday evening does not always lead to a similar Sunday - so I want to make sure that she is well protected if she does get caught outside.
I have used Specialised Car Covers for another car, but just thought I would see what companies other people have used, and what they are paying for them ...
Your thoughts welcome People ....

I had a cover made for another car, and it has a soft inner, so scratches won't be an issue if I just use them again. And a tailor made cover does not move about even when the straps are not done up
Sometimes I won't be able to get the car in the garage due to other cars being in it's place - one of which is a soft top and that is quicker to drive into the garage rather than put the roof back on ... so sometimes I wont have a choice about leaving it outside - quicker or not !

The scratching problem isnt an issue with the softness of the inside of the cover. If you put the softest cover in the wolrd over normal road dirt without washing the car first, it will trap the grit against the paint. Any movement of the cover results in fine scratches.
The same is true of a soft under cover. Unless you wash the car before covering it every time just the act of putting the cover on with the dust and grit on the car will scratch your paint.

Gee , all I asked was for a little advice, and I am getting a lecture !!
OK - all my cars have been treated by a specialist detailing company. Aside from ending up with a Showroom condition looking finish, the paintwork ends up with a treatment and stops dirt sticking to it (apparently) - which appears to work, since a rinse off with warm clean water and buff is all that is required to return it to new again....
As a rule, I don't drive any of my "Toy" cars in anything other than dry warm weather. When I have done, call me a
l if you wish, I wash them down before putting them away, either under cover or garaged...even if I have to wait until the next day. Ok, so it is sad that I care perhaps too much for the cars, but hey, everyone has a vice right ..
So thanks for the tips on car care - duly noted, but I think I have it covered. An annual trip to the detailing company is not a cheap exercise, so I tend not to hasten the trip by putting a tight fitting cover over a barrier of dirt.
I know it is a Monday - but what happened to the love in here - a simple "no idea", or perhaps - "have you tried these guys" was all I was looking for....
Consider the question closed - I will buy from a company I have previously used and have done with it - if I am paying over the odds, or not the best I can get, so be it ...

I bought a 'Noah' cover from Covercraft in the US as it was cheaper than buying in the UK (what a joke, only cost about £140 delivered from the US when the exch rate was better, they are listed as £295 in the UK!) for my BMW Z3M Coupe after seeking the advice of others. They don’t list any TVR's on the US website so I don’t know if they make them for Trevs or not. It was an off the shelf 'custom' fit for the ZMC but they do make generic shapes for cars, not sure I'd go for that.
I'd recommend this to others, its very light, easy to put on/remove, sqaushes up small enough to shove in the boot and is most importantly beathable, which means the car doesn’t sweat in the summer and the moisture dry's off easily enough after its rained. You can also put the cover on in the rain without the worry of the car never drying.
Weirdly the Z3MC cover is an almost perfect fit for my Griff, it just has a little baggy fabric over the boot where the ZMC looks like a van so I'm still using it today.
As long as you tether it under the car (I use a bungee) it doesn’t move and I never had any problems with paint scratching although I know many people don’t recommend them and you shouldn't use it with a dirty car etc. I may change to a Leven roof cover style soon as the constant cleaning before using the cover does get on my bits over winter.

I have a Covercraft cover. It's very well fitted, even the wing mirror 'ears' fit perfectly. It straps down nice and tightly, and even in windy weather it was fine. You just need to be sensible about putting it onto a dirty car.
I've been lying! I've just noticed the label on Mine, it's not Covercraft, it's 'Specialised Car Covers' 01943 864646. (What I said above still applies)NeilH said:
Thanks JensenA
That is who I have used in the past - I will contact again. Wish I had not bothered asking the question now and should have just picked up the phone to begin with and handed over my credit card ... Gee !!
You dont wanna be handing over your credit card. You wanna be very careful these days. You might find alternative methods of payment are much more secure and will ensure you are protected.
