Sad muppet that I am, my latest internet-based hobby (having moved on from locating Roman earthworks on Google Earth) is finding blue plaques around London via the English Heritage site and Google Streetview.

Really quite interesting. Did you know, for example, that Jimi Hendix was the next-door neighbour of George Frederick Handel (23 and 25 Brook Street, W1 respectively)?

And I found somewhere you can make your own

smile I like that site, pity they don't do real ones, I quite like the idea of having one on the side of the flat rofl

Although there's a couple of genuine ones within 5 mins walk of me, Cap't Smith & the Ismay household. Very close to each other & you can just imagine the Ismays walking down the rather pleasant road to persuade the Captain to take command of the maiden voyage...

There's a lot of published info & guidebooks about these things, particularly for London.
