how do I clear history in google on iphone

I used to have an Iphone 3G
and at some point I had to google for some porn (hotel's pay tv was broken you see)
The 3 searches used to come up whenever i started typing in the google box on the iphone since then and it made for an embarassing pause when a lady friend borrowed my iphone to find soemthing on the internet.
I now have Iphone 3gs and what I have done is backed up the old iphone and restored on the new iphone, thereby transferring contacts, settings etc, and of course the 3 porn references in google.
Again I have tried to clear history and it says it is done but as soon as I come out of safari and go back into google, lo and behold I am presented with pu**y gallery, babe porn and pichunter as the first three suggested searches.
how do I clear the damn thing once and for all?

You can clear history in the google webpage itself.
Or try this. Go into settings, safari, go to search engine and select the one which isn't selected. Close settings, go back in then clear all cache, cookies etc. Or something like that.

Done. nope still those searches...Nardies: Busted before.
the annoying thing is those searches were made in 2009 and I have done amny more socially friendly searches since but for some reason it is just those three that keep coming up as soon as I press teh search field and won't go away even if i start typing somehting with a completely different letter. If i was 14 or soemthing this would be world destroying embarassment and I might have thought that some higher power is trying to tell me something.

Just looked. When it suggests stuff at the very bottom of that list it's got a clear history link. Use it!
Thaqt's the whole point of the thread mate. I have. dozens of times, it just works until I close the browsing session then it comes back.308mate said:
