My 2000 4.5 LW is due it's 24,000 mile service. Any tips on things to have done that are not typically covered in this service, but that would be good from a precautionary standpoint?

One thing I recall many owners doing is having the Oil Pressure Relief Spring changed at each service.

Anything else?

Cheers,
Gixxer

Indeed Julian! Are you having anything else done (outside of the basic service itself)?

I'll know better when they tell me what state the engine is in.

Did want to make use of the saturday by looking at pauls system to re chip ECU's.

Still wonder whether to have the headlights blended in or whether to have afterburners.

Pretty sure I want Joolz's upgraded radiator for the summer and pretty sure I want nitrons, but have'nt got round to ordering.

Is that enough?

Indeed. Would be interested in feedback re the re-chipping if you wouldn't mind.

Gixxer.

I know what you mean Gixxer. Mine is due for its service too.

I'm thinking of asking to have the throttle pots replaced. I'm getting new HT leads but that is because the old ones are known to be knackered. I was thinking of asking for the "big fuse" to be replaced but I had this done 6 months ago so don't think this is necessary this time. I'm not concerned about the oil pressure relief spring as the pressure has always been A OK on mine.

Apart from the above I can't think of anything else to be replaced on top of a standard service.

satman, do you mind letting me know what your paying for the headlight conversion (via email if you'd prefer). I'm thinking about doing the same and was wondering about costs.

cheers,
Gixxer

Been to Austec today, they now have an injector cleaning machine works very well.
Not sure how much extra they charge for cleaning (doubt it will be excessive) but worth geting done

I'm sending my injectors to be cleaned next week

Suggest anybody who is getting any remapping done cleans the injectors first,or if yours haven't been done (which is probably most TVR's)

Paul had one car gain 6bhp just on cleaning the injectors

Satman,

If possible, would you mind sending me a copy of that e-mail, as this is on my wish list for this year

Cheers

I would agree on these 2 items, both very cheap, and if you're having your tappets checked during the service, then the fuse is a piece of cake to get to once the inlet manifolds are off
