Engine Number

I don't know if I'm asking a stupid question but I was wondering where abouts I can find the engine number on my Cerb. It seems as though on the original V5 the engine capacity and the engine number were put in the opposite fields and this remains on my logbook now. Thanks in advance.

Front of engine, offside...in front of the water and oil pumps.

The engine number is stamped on the block just above the water pump. You can see it if you peer down from the front of the engine, looking at the left hand side, then it should be facing up at you.
