TomTom: black screen at startup: kaput?

I connected my 8 months old TomTom XL last night and it gave me a dead screen - all black - in return. It's on allright, but the screen stays black.

Has it broken down on me already? It did not fall or anything . . . Connected to the inhouse plug it looked pretty dead to me ;(

Any thoughts?

have you tried a reset? there is a little hole on the underside that you can poke a paperclip into.

Mine does that if its not been used in a week or so. Maybe try just leaving it on charge for a few hours?

Ditto, needs to charge for a bit before powering on. My Road Angel does the same thing.
