I was wondering if it would be possible to change the key on the T350 for something a bit more compact (think Audi fold away style) - could it be done?

Could you change the ignition barrel or is this just completely impossible?

Anything is possible. Personally I think its too much hassle. The current setup is from a Ford Mondeo/Focus (I forget which). Why not see what they offered on newer models? Might make it easier.

I looked at doing this a couple of years ago but decided it really was too much hassle and I think that Ford changed the keys for a different shape and not sure if the ones used on TVR fit the flip key style fobs they did.

Happy to be proved wrong though and would be interested myself if not too £££

Was it not just the shank that was from a Ford?. I thought the key fob part was made for TVR by Metta who supplied the alarms as it had the button built in? You can remove the shank if you clamp it in a vice and pull it but you still need the other part to unlock the car.

I think it's relatively easy to swap the Meta internals into one of the other fobs but the hassle is finding/working out which ones will fit in conjuction with being able to slot the key blade in.

Is it carl baker who is the Meta expert? Perhaps someone who knows him would be able to enquire? I always hear good things but never spoke/dealt with him.

that would be really good, then just have a fob for the alarm/locks...
