XP Taskbar problems
Discussion
Not sure what I did, but on my laptop, it has stoped showing me what programs are running or minimised. The only toolbar I have running is quick launch, if I switch that off, the start button and clock disappear. In properties it is not set to "autohide".
Also when I unlock the taskbar I get the little dots on the left of the quicklaunch icons but not on the right. The only playing I did was with the language toolbar, but think I must have deleted something else with it.
I know the obvious answer is to use system restore, but it is switched off.
Any ideas?

I have a feeling you may have inadvertantly (sp??!!) stretched your quick launch bar too big.. Try stretching it the other way to see if you can see your open apps..
Good luck!

Just re-read your post and thought my first idea was crap! ... what options have you got ticked in the taskbar property menu?

OK sort of fixed it.
Created new user, and copied all files to new user, then delete my old account.
Toshiba help line useless, dozey mare, (indian call centre?), only knew how to add toolbars.
Found someone else on the net who had same problem, and used system restore.
that'll teach me, switched it back on now.
