They've been going on since Christmas and they're driving me nuts, they seem to be on every break between shows. You get the feeling that none of them actually watch Eastenders either because only one of them knows the ending tune. The 25th anniversary isn't 'til mid Feb either.

I'm presuming the 'doff' is the drumbeats that you will inevitably hear at the end of a particularly dramatic cliffhanger, signifying the start of the iconic theme tune and 'more to come'?

If so, yes, I've only seen one of these ads and it was incredibly irritating.

BBC1 really has sunk lower than channel 5.

I Sky + all the programs I want to watch, then watch them at my leisure.

No ad breaks, no annoying bits in between shows on BBC.

Perfect.

I don't see the point of Eastenders. Miserable people speaking to each other like st. And no ending in sight, ever.

At least Corrie has a bit of humour about it. (and Rosie Webster.....)

Thats more like it. I cannot understand it either. Who the hell wants to come home from work after a long day and watch this dreary crap?

I recall Christmas Day (which is supposed to be 'happy') in the mid/late 80's, Den and Angie arguing for the whole half hour episode.
Great family entertainment !
