Alarm / Central Locking Problem

About a week ago my key fob stopped working and I couldn't turn the alarm on/off and the central locking using the key fob wasn't working.

Thinking it might be the batteries in the fob I bought two new ones today but still nothing.

Recently the main car battery did run low due to lack of use but I think the central locking, etc, worked off the key fob after that.

The alarm is a Meta Systems M99 - 36T - Aquilla, fitted in 97 to a 94 car.

Any ideas? The battery has run low plenty of times before and once charged again its never made the alarm/central locking play up...

Is there anything I can do to check if its the fob or the alarm at fault? BTW, I can still disable the immobiliser using the stick thing that goes in the dash, but not using the usual method of a quick press of the fob.

Had exactly this a couple of tiimes now. I have same Meta alarm. It's easy! - just disconnect the main battery for about 30sec, then reconnect. This may set the alarm off so be ready with your blipper to turn it off. What has happened is that when your battery gets low, the alarm goes to sleep and needs resetting. I don't know any nore than that, only that it has worked twice for me.

Just wondering if there's anything else to consider if disconnecting the battery completely, losing the radio code, etc.?

Just a quick update, disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds did the trick. Nice one dodger...
