Will electrocuting my abs give me a six pack or is it a load of guff?

From what I've read, it's better than doing nothing but not much better!

Does anyone know any different? I always assumed that tightening up your abs would help pull your stomach in a little whilst not actually losing any 'fat'.

Yep. It's like doing sit-ups or crunches. They may improve your abs but there'll still be a ring of blubber covering that perfect 6 pack. Cardio is what you need. Lots of it.

So it does work if you are willing to go and do the cardio work?

does it comapre to crunches or is doing the olf fashion crunch better for the abs but worse for the back?

Complete guess here but I'd say it wouldn't replace crunches but complement them. Crunches mean you're lifting your upper body weight. I guess it is like comparing doing 10 reps of 30kg bicep curls vs 1000 reps of bicep curls holding a pencil.

If you already have sub 10% body fat then yes devices like this will work to enhance your visible abs but only if you use it together with a regular exercise regime.

But tbh if you're at that level of body fat you are doing something right and doubt you'd want to use something like this.
