Just had my dashboard refurbished by London Coachcraft but had not realised they would take the curve out the dashboard and worse still remove all the guage mounting screws. I took meticulous note of the wiring bit havent a clue were all the guage mounts go. Although once I stop panicing I am sure it will work out can anyone help with a photo of the back of the plate and what glue to fix the mounts back with? Its a 92 griff.

Don't panic Captain Mainwaring!

The dash is flat - when you put it in place it naturally takes up the curve of the dashboard surround.

The position of the threaded studs should still be visible on the back - use Araldite to reattach them.

Problem is the back has been painted black so I cannot see any of the old positions. It also means I have to scrape the paint off before gluing the brackets back!

Exactly which studs/mounting brackets are detached?Have you got the loose studs/brackets?

The position of the threaded studs that hold the switch strip in place should be obvious. The mounting brackets for the instruments were welded on mine. These brackets only give the instrument 'horseshoe' clamps a surface to bear against. You should be able by trial fitting the instruments to find the correct position for them to be araldited in place.

Take your time and be logical.

Non of the mounts have ever been welded on, they had all been stuck on with araldite. The problem then is that London carridge paint the back of the plate black so there are no references. As Jigs kindly pointed out it is quite logical to put back apart from the dashboard securing fixing on the passenger side.
