Hi all,

Just been to see what looks like a very nice F360 Modena, the year is 2000, 27k miles, F1,
there are 2 years when it wasnt serviced over its 10 year life, basicly seviced each year then missed a year, this happened twice, but it hadn't really done any miles during the year it wasn't serviced, if that makes sense, basically only dones say 3k miles between services, but over a 2 year period.

Now would this bother you if you were looking to buy it? also it doesn't appear to have had a new clutch yet, would this also make you think twice?

all view very much apreciated.

It wouldn't really bother me as long as the car checks out OK. Most F1 clutches rarely get past 30K miles, although I know of a guy in the US with 55K on his one.

I would have the car properly examined and have a good look at the interior to try and see whether it has been clocked. After all the car was either stuck in a garage or else was used a bit and then when it came to being serviced the mileage was wound back.
Good luck

I would not worry about it if it looks genuine. Just check the belts and see when they were last done. If they have not been done in the last 3 years they need doing.

I wouldn't worry about that. The reality is from time to time these cars don't get service exactly when they should be. I doubt it does them any harm. I would suggest you get the car checked over and if everything is ok, go for it. As for the clutch I believe you can have them checked to see how much longer it has on it, if not I would be trying to negotiate the price of one into the deal.

Good luck and lets us know how you get on.,

I would have the car properly examined. PROPERLY
For me missed service would deffo mean to check if mileage is genuine plus negotiate hard on the price.
One of my main criteria s when I bought my 360 was to have full s/history.
I don't care if it is main dealer or well known indy but deffo no missing years. These cars must be serviced regularly. If someone tried to save on servicing £50k-£80k car what else he tried to hide? Minor service on 350 is just £1k, not huge amount of money.
So it either was in collection (doubt so) or someone was running it on budget.
To cut long story short - even 1 missed service would deffo put me off unless substantial discount is offered (at least 10-15% of the asking price).

People are buying poor examples of Ferraris without proper service history & then complain that these cars are unreliable. This car is extremely reliable, trust me, last autumn I made 2k+ miles trip in couple of days without any single failure (just before major service actually) and no single warning light on the dash. Just look after the car & she will look after you. If you buy 50k car you would expect some running & servicing costs would you? You are not buying Corsa or Golf. These costs are very minor if you do service on time, so it is worth getting car without any gaps in the history.

So my opinion as current 360 owner - stay away & find better example

i agree there's no excuse to miss an annual , regardless of mileage between service. there are loads of 360s out there to choose from . get the right one and you wont regret it for a minute
