Doesn't mention if it's on the insurance register....mentions that it's accident repaired so I'd imagine at that price to be CAT D...

If that's the case...15k may be a little steep.

Not an 'S' and will only have ABS and traction control if retro fitted which is mega unlikely, may not have air con either even though the switch is there. Looks like a typical advert from dealer who knows zip about TVR's. Tread carefully.

If it's close, have a look. As said, seller knows nothing about TVRs from the wording in the ad - might be worth quizzing them about the ABS and traction control laugh

I had a look at a few before getting mine - check the bits below (ignoring the engine which is pot luck really):

- A pillar trim (outside) coming adrift
- drivers offside seat bolster worn/bent/knackered
- chips along targa roof bar where roof put back clumsily
- roof scratched/edge panels cracked for same reason
- sealing around rear screen
- handbrake/gear gaiters cracked
- missing lines on POD screen
- check for rear screen bag in boot and tyreweld under panel on top of fuel tank - see whether it has been raided for these bits and then wonder what else - noticed cigarette lighter is not the original in the photo)

I guess on this one you'd need to lift the engine panel off and check the light cover on the drivers side inner wing is there and generally how well the repairs have been done. While there, look at the oil/coolant/PAS fluid levels and how clean the oil is.

Usual checks on cold startup etc. and the rest of the standard TVR bits (chassis etc.)

Find a good one though, and they are fantastic machines

How do you know it is not 'safe'? because it may have had slight grp damage that has been repaired? confused

My advice is to have a look at it, check all mentioned above, then look at a few more make comparisons and if this is the one, offer them a few grand less and get a bargain.

I don't think you should ever buy the most expensive car on the lot. The second most expensive can is a Mondeo at only £2290.

Selling on behalf of a mate most likely.

As already said, I meant safer in terms of financial risk, not the safety of the car which indeed may well be as safe as any Tuscan. Apologies for the ambiguity.
