Frame Resprays - Recommendations
Discussion
As above really - I need to get a steel frame and forks resprayed in white, and there's a lot out there. I need somewhere that will also lacquer over the decals as the last people I used just stuck them on top, which wasn't great after a few rides. It's for my S/S project P7.
Any recommendations - location not an issue as most places post/deliver.

Hi,
Try Brian Rourke in Stoke. They've recently re-furbed an old steel road frame for me and made an excellent job of it. I'd certainly recommend them. Good price too.
I just gave them a ring and talked over what i wanted. Very helpful all round.
Here's the finished article. Apologies for the rug!

I'm hoping to use this on the much talked about L2B assault!

I had my old GT Karakoram sprayed by Roberts, or whoever they outsource it too. Looked beautiful, but was as chip resistant as butter. Was a mess after the first ride and went downhill from there. He was also a nightmare to pin down on how long 'til I'd get it back. I'd still love a Roberts.
Roberts use a local car sprayer to do the job.
Argos use proper enamel that is more resilient. However, can I suggest you get it powder coated instead. Very durable and cheaper.
Also. Depending on the size of the decal, it is better to have them over the lacquer. Lacquer doesn't adhere too well to stickers and can peel off very easily. I know I'd rather have a nicked sticker than peeling lacquer.
Oh, I've had three bikes done by Argos and they did a great job on all of them.
