URGENT Sinn U1 strap question...!!
Discussion
Hi all,
Got an offer of a Sinn U1 on a rubber strap, but included is a metal bracelet. I love the look and feel of the watch, but the rubber strap is a bit small for me.
Can anyone tell me how the rubber strap adjusts please..? If I need to get a new strap, how much am I looking at and where can I get one from?
Need to know asap as I'd like to buy this imminently...!!
Cheers chaps..!!

Once the strap is cut there is no major adjustment. Can't remember if there is minor adjustment on the clasp though. Will go and take a look. Back in a mo.....
£95 from Neil at Chronomaster if you need a new one.

Thanks Benny, much appreciated.
What's the going price on a U1 on a rubber strap but with the unused bracelet included? It was bought new in March 09. I really like the look of it, but am unsure as to any other info on them...

Yes, the Sinn rubber is a 'measure twice, cut once' job, but they are very good comfy straps that I'd definitely rec'd trying - the rubber strap is £95 from chronomaster (Neil) but this is including the deployment clasp - if you want just the rubber bits then speak to him and he may be able to sort you out just the strap (which should be cheaper obviously).
Also, I think you'd get the final year of warranty on the watch (which you shouldn't need if there's been no problems in the first year).
For a year old U1 that's pretty much as new with bracelet I'd say in the region of £800?

If it's anything like the similar deployant / cut-to-fit rubber strap that Omega do for the Seamaster then the two parts (strap and clasp) are available seperately. Chronomaster would be a good place to start.
As an alternative, why not get a leather strap custom made to fit the Sinn deployant? I'm sure someone on here has done something similar as shown here: http://www.toshi-straps.co.uk/gallery.html The Sinn deployant is about 2/3 of the way down the page.
I've had another 2 straps from Rich at Toshi delivered this week so will be posting some gratuitous pics once I get home later this week...

You could always flog the bracelet if you don't want it, as they seem to fetch about £150. I'm still undecided which is best. The watch looks smarter and is comfy on the bracelet, but looks more rugged and is comfier still on the rubber. At the moment I've settled on the bracelet for day to day, saving the rubber for holidays and outdoor type activities.
