This isn't new funds though is it.

Our overseas aid budget is around £9 billion and even things like the Haiti appeal all come from this.

Bizarrely, this and the NHS budget are the only two things Call Me Dave has promised to maintain.

It appears they are as mad the current lot so don't expect our stance on 'aid' to change soon.

Did this giving aid carry on start after the war, when the allied countries piled millions into rebuilding the country's both they and we obliterated? Ever since then it seems we give away billions and don't see much back in return. I mean both Germany and Japan have both become world super powers again but since them our aid money doesn't seem to making much visual effect.

I mean im all for giving aid but sometimes I think it goes to the wrong people at the wrong time and were left suffering financial meltdown. Again.

To add...The Taliban is going on our payroll announced this week also to encourage activities other than planting IED`s & shooting our forces now that the largely unwinnable sorry situation is sinking in.

But as a previous poster has pointed out the Tory's plan to cut all areas of spending except the NHS and Overseas Aid, which will both continue to be increased and ring fenced. So Gordon is a Moron and CMD wants to spend even more than Gordon on this sort of thing. Who you gonna vote for now?
