Glitching or Exploiting the game?

As is most games (mainly COD).
What is classed as Glitching & what is classed as exploitation?

To me everything can be seen as exploiting the game as it's the developers fault for not fixing the issues, unlimited care packages etc.

What does everyone see as acceptable?

I think the running fast with a care package is just exploitation it's not a glith, i also think the sniping spots on highrise are'nt glitches they're just difficult to get to sniping spots etc.

I dont see any real glitching in MW2 (like people up in the air or shooting out of Rocks).

I did see someone up on the roof of one of the offices in High rise though. How do you get up there?

I think things that are obviously a cock-up in programming shouldn't be exploited as they are 'glitches'. Things like the repeating care package where you have to use a crazy combination of button presses shouldn't be used.

Sniping positions, or running around stabbing people, is pretty fair game as far as I am concerned.

At the far end theres a cleaning winch tower thing that's "broken", you run and jump on the edge of that & then run along the ledge & up the other cleaning tower as per this video...

I'd say that if you can be seen but not killed that's cheating...

If you alter the coding of the game, that's cheating...

Corpse Camping/Killstreak Duplication is fair game yet unsportsmanlike... (unless the cheeky fooker deserves it! )

Care Package-Run-Stab is completely fine in my book... do you run faster when carrying 1kg flare in one hand or a 10kg rifle between both hands?

I am certain that the Highrise roof "glitch" is actually just the design of the map otherwise IW would have patched it like the rocks, You are incredibly exposed for 30-40 seconds as you make your way around the ledge so it is quite difficult to get up there. Also when you are up there someone can throw a grenade at you from inside the building by using the large window in the roof that is a useful tip if there is a sniper up ther as you kill them and there tac insersion.

yes but the rifle is still on your back so overall you are not lighter.

Or you can AT4 their arse I find that works rather well

I must admit to admiring the guys that can make that first jump to the very corner of the broken window cleaners rig in a live game, I have only managed that about one in six attempts when in private on my own

I can make the jump about 60% of the time, if you just practice in a private game you will get it more and more. The teddy Bears are a reference to the Mystery Box on zombie mode on World at War which moved the random weapons box to a differnt loaction if a teddy bear was seleceted.

Yeah i can't do the roof sniper on a normal game, i treid it in a private game & it took me about 16 attempts lol.
Plus, as soon as one person sees you you don't have much of a chance as it's grenade ahoy.

If it's on your back it's closer to your center of gravity as you run, as well as freeing up your hands...

You will move faster...

If it's something which you can't do in reality like float, hide inside rocks etc. then it's cheating. Calling in unlimited care packages is also cheating as that is against the "rules" of the game.

Knifing from 20ft has more factors than just the care package flare...

Jump accessing glitch areas... Well the problem lies with the glitch areas surely? Not the care package. poor level design.

Is it just friendly care packages that you get the litle yellow arrow for at the edge of your screen or is that the enemy ones as well?

I stole 2 of an enemies emergency air drop the other day (stealth bomber and UAV!) but was concentrating too much on that to notice and arrows.

I know that the enemy helicopter shows up on radar but do the actual crates show up as well?

The care package speed thing was obviously unintentional as it has now been patched out. Using it normally might not have been a problem, but combined with lightweight and marathon, it was stupidly overpowered. The same with dual 1887s, they were very overpowered and so have had their range reduced.

Hard to reach places on the map aren't a problem usually, as most of the time you can still kill people there. It's just another place to check when moving around. It's when people do things like hide inside rocks, or lie down in places that lets them see and shoot through a wall without being seen from the other side that it is wrong. The one that lets you get on top of the roofs in Karachi is a bit dodgy as it is very hard to kill people there and lets you get out of the normal map area.
