The other half just bought me an HP netbook, i need to get an anti-virus software for it. I know very little about these things, so forgive me!!

I will be using o2 pay & go dongle, will use for light surfing etc. It has windows 7 starter, so which free anti-virus software would be suitable for it?

Can find out more info later if needed.

Thanks in advance! biggrin

No idea whether it's any good but MS offer a freeby now: click.

It's good.

And a no brainer to be honest now.

It's very quiet, very efficient and well supported, and no nagware.

MS done good there.

Just use the Microsoft Security Essentials, it is free and apparently works quite well.
