Do they have too much Tin in their water or is it too much exposure to pasties that has caused them all to believe they are a seperate Country and therefore deserving of a place at the Commenwealth Games? Surely they have better things to do than waste everyones time with this?

Right, I'm off to hide before Meibion Kernow catch up with me! hehe

I thought it was the Inbred Olympics for the Cornish (who usually battle it out with Norfolk and Wales)?

I think they should be allowed to.

Right after we build a big wall along the border to stop them from coming into the England that they are so happy to reject.

Why do some Cornish people have such a big chip on their shoulder about being a seperate country?

I have noticed this big time and some hardliners wont accept they are English, i mean i dont go around wanting Lancashire to be independent of England.

Cornish are English - get over it.

Are Welsh, Scottish, Irish, and Manx people also English? And what makes you think that these nationalists want to be independent?

"Cornish team at the Commenwealth Games?"

As a proud Cornishman (living in St.Bracknell-in-Brannel), if the feckwit Englishman OP could define where the "Commenwealth Games" are to be held, that would be lovely. You twunt.

The Romans stopped at various borders, the River Tamar being one of them, because they knew they'd suffer badly if they tried otherwise.

No they are not English, but the counties of Cheshire, Lancashire, West Sussex etc etc. are deemed as being in England, as is Cornwall.

However, to the best of my knowledge Cheshire et al do not have their own language, whereas Kernewek is alive and reasonably well the other side of the Tamar.

Oh i dont know, having grown up in Cheshire i can confirm they have a language all of their own lol.

I understand they have another language but how many actually speak it? Even so Cornwall is part of England.

If Cornwall believes itself to be an independent nation, wouldn't it have to apply for membership of the Commonwealth before it can apply to be represented in the Commonwealth games?

This is just typical anti-scottish prejudice from south of the border. Why didn't you mention the Highlands, Orkneys, Shetland, Hebrides etc? They are every bit as inbred as the folk from Norfolk yet just because it's further north you don't see fit to mention it, it's so he'p ma boab!

Singing

"Och, ma sistae is ma mothar, ma fathae is ma brothar...."

Aww diddums I'm terribly sorry that I put an 'e' instead of an 'o', didn't realise it would upset you so much (might have to do it some more in that case! biggrin)

Why are you all so hell bent on becoming a seperate country? I find it interesting and amusing that so many residents of a county can believe they are or should be a country, is it purely because the Romans didn't invade (probably couldn't find anything of use west of the Tamar!)

Sorry for getting you so worked up about this my fellow Englishman or as you so eloquently put it 'twunt'.

The Romans didn't bother for the same reason they didn't with Scotland- not worth the reward for the effort. Better to cut them off and let them suffer.

Seems like they still haven't got over the rejection.
