90-94 are non interference, 95 introduced a new head that is interference some got it and some got earlier head depending what was on the shelf at the time, most got the new one. From then on (95) all LS400 are interference engines.
I can't be 100% sure this is correct as I have never done one myself but it came from an experienced Lexus mechanic. Also mentioned that the belts usually break when the water pump seizes so factor a water pump into your repair price probably.

Non Interference engine.
You will be well advised to replace the water pump ( about £60) and the two idler bearings ( these tend to go before the belt) so can get a bit expensive but ask around your local motor factors for a lexus LS400 cambelt service kit.
Theres lots of information including a really good tutorial on how to change the belt at www.lextreme.com. ( The moderator of the site also sells repair kits so price it up as they used to be very good value)
You will have to make yourself a locking tool for the crank pulley, and the pulley itself may need a decent puller to free it from the crankshaft nose but apart from that its easy.
Follow the tutorial and you'll have the thing purring again in a few hours.
Cheers,
Tony
