That's great news. I love the Nyetimber bubbly, always got a bottle or two in the wine rack.

It is a nice drop! Though I prefer Camel Valley! Good to see some recognition for good English wine! the New Zealand stuff is pretty good too!

It is good news. We have same soil structure as Champagne and similar climate.

There has been a lot of same vines planted in the UK recently so though not massive production levels, hopefully it will become more widely available. Competition is never a bad thing from a consumer point of view!

I love Nyetimber and rate it very highly, but it's not yet in the same class as some of the best champagnes, like Krug. It is, however, miles better than the average bottle of NV champagne.

not tried this one.

I'm a big fan of english wines, and Camel is good stuff so this must be pretty special.

Shame it would never compete with the big boys in bars and restaurants purely because it isn't 'champagne'...

bazking is about right, and as this is a mainly car mad forum, you can compare this with rolls royce/ lexus, yes the latter is better all round, but it's not a roller. Same with fir-rary and jap sports cars.

British fizzy wine, will never be as good as an exellent vintage bottle
of sham-pag-ney, to the snobs trying to impress someone, at the flash bar/restaurant.

We have been drinking this for a while and have been telling all our friends to try it. I find it slightly less 'sharp' than drinks like veuve clicquot our previous tipple of choice.

Judges said the drink — made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes — has "aromas of mandarins, vanilla and lemons" as well as "shortbread and light apricot" with "biscuity notes playing a supporting role".

Sounds good to me, will certainly give it a try. Who stocks it?

That sums it up quite accurately.

I had a bottle of this yesterday and I have to say probably the best bottle of fizz I've ever had.

It actually tasted of something rather than just acid and fizz, a nice taste of actual fruit with a real depth and complexity.

Lovely, recommended.

I think this side of 150 pounds you cannot beat a botlle of Gran Cordoniu from (guess....) Cordoniu
around 16 quid at waitrose me thinks, has got everything and more a good sparkler needs, imo
