Help, Deleted Photo's By Accident

I uploaded some pictures from my Nikon D40 this evening and edited them in CS4.
Then for some strange reason I deleted them from both camera and laptop before I uploaded them to Flickr.
Is there any way I can retrieve them?
Yes I did empty the recycling bin before anyone asks.

yes, try scandisk recovery on the SD card first

They will still be on the card. 'Image recovery' software is what you need (usually free with good memory cards) - I use Lexar Pro and have Lexar Image Rescue.

Ok great, I dont have a SD card slot on my laptop so is there still a way to do it using the cable that connects to the camera?

yea the camera will work, just use the usb. data is only fully removed when you format. i would recommend formatting your cards every so often.

Don't access the card or hard drive at all if possible and download a copy of Recuva. It'll get your pictures back if they've not been overwritten yet.
