As I write this there are 1,025 E46 3 series in the classifieds.
I know there is a search/filter title function but unfortunately quite a few people don't bother recording the fact that their car is a Compact/Coupe/Saloon/Touring at all.
This makes searching for a E36 or E46 3 series of one particular body type laborious.

I don't think splitting the categories further is the answer here. We have plans for a new search tool for the classifieds, but it is still quite a long way off.
In the mean time the best option is probably to use the filter tool to refine your search. Rather than putting in a keyword, try adding a price range and maximum distance to drastically cut down the number that you have to scroll through.
You can also use it to view only the cars that have been added recently, meaning you only have to work through the entire list once and then can just keep on top of the new additions.
