As a proud owner, and daily driver, of a V8S I was wondering how many still survive.

The bible quotes a total build of 410, and given an annual reduction rate of 10% that should leave about 100 remaining - anybody got any ideas for how accurate this might be ?

My personal feeling are there are a few more than that left

There are defo 17 cars on PH (probably more)

I have seen to many to believe 100 are all thats left but only guessing

5% lose per year seems more realistic to me

I'd be a bit more optimistic and say there may be around 300 left IMHO and guesstimate. How you'd ever go about finding out is different matter though.

O/T Colin how did you get on yeterday, what were the RR figures like post service and minor tweeking by Paul . I know its booked for major tweeking in a couple of weeks, just curious thats all.

You could ask the (new) TVRCC Registrar?

You could ask the (new) TVRCC Registrar?

Cheers Dave, that would be how many cars the model registrar has on his books though and probably not definative. Didn't realise there was a new registrar, never got any joy last time I ask about some aspects of me motor , might try again now its under new management

Simple we never put it on the rollers....save a bit on the upgrade

The gas analyser was showing High hydrocarbons at 1078, and the % CO2 and corrected CO2 were different

So we decided to get the injectors cleaned on thier new bit of kit,I'll send them this week.No point mapping if the injectors are not spraying very well.

The injectors are bound to work well, never been of probably

Its being remapped for fuel AND ignition

Ah thought from your last visit it was running rich, just wondered if that was sorted before the upgrade to full fuel and ignition mapping , you would have visability of the improvements at each point.
Seeing as you are getting the injectors sorted,it should make a fair difference alone. If they are that bad you will hopefully get a decent start RR figure on the day of the 'upgrade'. Most intersting though, I take it you are doing the removing bit then how many sheckles to get the injectors cleaned, hopefully none are knackered though .

Well mine's green (Cooper green that is). So there's another one for your statistics.

Not sure I like the sound of a turquoise V8S.

Edited to say: sorry if it's your turquoise car, I'm sure it's nice really

Ah but i haven't seen it

Nice colour though

The "turquoise" one actually looked rather nice might be called a different name

The Chimaera was availabe in Antique Turquoise (early ones circa 93 on), which is actually a lot nicer that it sounds... doubtless the same spraygun could have wandered onto a V8S in the next spraybooth.

Cheers
Matt.

AFAIK the turquoise one was up for sale when I was looking. I also seem to think it maybe the one that is shown in the Bible 2nd edition on the covers and inside. Not sure what the office colour name is though, but blue/green it defo is..

Well I think my V8S is 'Juniper Green', a very bright metalic green. Not at all like most of the drab colours the S came in ;-). Never seen another S (or even TVR) in this colour.
