... in a 100 objects. Just started downloading the podcasts, and couldn't resist taking a peek on the site to see how cars were represented.
Is there an early Benz Motorwagen? No
Model T? Nope
Rolls Royce Silver Ghost? Nah
Beetle? Narp
Mini? Hummer? Prius? Nay, nay and thrice nay
As far as I can see (site bit difficult to navigate), the total automotive related entries are: the Indy 500 trophy, 'Babs' land speed record car, 1933 Morris badge, 1975 E-Type, DeLorean and (drum roll please) a 1986 Nissan Bluebird.
Is it just me who - to put it mildly - thinks these entries fail to adequately capture the impact of the car as social, technological & cultural artifact?
