Umm....

I remapped mine when it was 1 month old and 1K miles. paperbag

Well worth it.

Changes it entirely. I'd go for DMS though for the warranty aspect.

Also, its chancey not telling your insurance company.

I loved both of mine.

Hi there OP (I can't see the history of the thread to remember how to type your username!)

I have had my 2003 E39 Diesel re-mapped by the well reknowned and reputable guys at A-L Tuning. These guys along with their sister company CA Automotive are very well known in BMW circles/scene. I'm very very happy with my re-map indeed, couldn't be happier!

In the Re-mapping market in the UK, it's like any other sector really, there's those who are in the know and plenty of jumped on the bandwagon types who don't quite know what they're doing.

I strongly suggest saving up a few more pennies and going for the top end of the market for Re-mappers in the UK for BMW's

think

1. CA Automotive / A-L Tuning.
2. B&W Chiptune
3. DMS
4. Some more of the highly knowledgable smaller players who often have reviews in the 3 BMW magazines.

This way, you know your car is in good and reputed hands and they'll listen and support you AFTERwards as well which is highly important in todays marketplace for not just this sector, but all sectors! Another benefit is that you'll get good advice and discussion of your requirements beforehand as well!

Hope this helps - Cheers, Dennis! West London & Slough UK!

He has only said hes going to DMS.

Personally, as the car is so new, i'd go to DMS as they provide a warranty on the car.

Hi 6BMW

Not a self advertisement at all! I simply had my E39 Touring Diesel re-mapped by A-L Tuning and I've been extremely happy with the results. Since having the work done, I've got to know the guys there and I always have a good chat with them about my potential requirements and I'm treated well.

This is a forum, and it's here to share views, if they or any other company had been lacking, I'd have also mentioned that.

They are in Berkshire, so am I, in fact, their premises are about 1.5 miles from my house!

Are there any recommendations and experiences you can also share with the community ?

Cheers, Dennis! West London & Slough UK!
