Hiya guys and girls

Hopefully a quick question, on my e46 m3 its a 2001 Y reg with sat nav, tv and HK stereo, but i seem to lose the sound??

Just driving down the road it just stops the stereo still works skip cd, change radio station just no sound?? I have to stop turn engine off and wait a coupe of minutes then start up and bingo it works??? Weird hay?

Ive been told its probley the amp but thats about £600 from bmw so wanna make sure before spending that kind of money.

Any help please

It is the Harmon Kardon Amp,

they always have problems with the output on individual channels.
Try ebay or a wanted ad in a BMW mag to get a better price.
FAB direct always have M3's which they are breaking, it may be worth a try to get hold of a 2nd hand one.

Ah cool so it is the amp silly thing! i can get one from BMW new for £460 as i just found ot a friend works there, but will look around to see how much i can get one for

I think they are much better, the Genesis ones are especially good in BMWs.
Your best bet is to drive down to the caraudiosecurity showroom and listen to the amp yourself.
If you do go for a aftermarket amp then make sure you do not pay the price stated on their website, they will give you some very good descounts if you push.
