SO,

Getting married in June and for honeymoon we are driving to south of France (Antibes. On our first night I want an extra special place to stay up to 4 hours drive from Calais.

Suggestions from the PH massive?

Thanks

Roger

We stayed here on our honeymoon in 2008, very nice and less than 4 hours from Calais...

Lots of famous Champagne houses within easy walk. You could also sneak in a bit of pistonheadery as it's only about 30 mins from the old Reims GP circuit.

We also went to Antibes amongst other places. You'll love every minute of it!

Look at Chateau Etoges( www.chateau-etoges.com )near Epernay. Travel time from Calais about four hours.

Have stayed here about 4 times now and are returning for my 40th in May. Stunning food. If you want drama stay in the main Chateau building. We stay in the Orangerie adjacent which is new and finished to a very high standard. Secure parking and some great driving roads all around.

Try the small Champagne house Borel Lucas only 50 metres from the hotel. Great champagne for about 13 euros a bottle.

Maison Blanche.
You might struggle to find any room though. You could also try Blue Nord.
Hope she likes a pi$$ up.
