As requested by Heavysoul here are some pics of the R44 GTR i am getting as Px deal on the Noble.

I personally doubt it is running at its claimed 700bhp and the performance and handling is no where near the Noble, but having 4 seats and a boot with luxury interior, i think i will enjoy driving it around for a while until i sell it on.

That looks like a R34 GTT rather than an R34 GTR. It's got the wrong engine in it for a start!

You can see how much i know about these cars, can you enlighten me on what is the difference between a GTR and a GTT? Is it a lesser spec than a GTR? I would really appreciate some input as the exchange has not happened yet, we are due to complete the transaction on Tuesday.

GTR has a 2.6 litre Twin turbo engine (RB26) and advanced AWD/4 wheel steering.

GTT has a 2.5 litre Single Turbo engine (RB25 NEO) and is RWD.

Realistically a GTR is worth about twice as much as a GTT.

So in summary there is a great deal of difference between the two. There is plenty of further information online, but hopefully that gives you the picture.

Good god there's a difference! Best get reading up before you possibly get youself ripped off! off top of my head GTT is rear wheel drive GTR is 4 wheel drive, as mentioned totally different engine etc, I hope they have not tried to pass this car off as a GTR.

Maybe they were so shocked by the price the Noble was up for, they thought they'd inflate theirs as well wink

Thanks for the advice guys, so it is a GTT with a body kit and a "R " badge, lol, you are right it is Rwd and that confused me because i always thought the GTR was 4wd.

I have just done some reading on the GTT vs GTR, quite a price difference, although i read an interesting review on saving the money on a GTR and spending the difference tuning a GTT.

Ok i need to try and get some perspective on this, at the end of the day i am only really interested in finding its worth for selling on, it appears the GTT is worth a lot less than a GTR, but it seems he has upgraded brake kit, alloys, seats, body kit, he mentioned something about a "stoker" or "stroker" kit, and new ECU etc.. i need to get more information on exactly what work has been done to the engine.

But then again I was told off a friend i trust 100% and is the main tuner/car modifier in the Larnaca area, that the car is worth 30,000 to 35,000 euros, so if a take that at face value, i'm wondering if it really matters that it is GTT spec because i will be getting the money i wanted for the Noble.

Got me thinking though, i want to find out a bit more about the car. Thanks for all the advice, i may still go through with the Px on the trust of how much my friend is saying it is worth. Tbh nobody told me it was a GTR, that is just me not knowing anything about these cars and making assumptions, i had never even heard of a GTT until this thread, they will probably laugh at me for even thinking it was a GTR seen as though he clearly stated it was RWD and single turbo.

I'm pretty sure you were trying to advise someone a while back the benefits of having a 3R over a 3 and stating those various benefits. Isn't this virtually the same? If I were buying to sell on I'd be careful about a heavily modified car anyway as the target market will be even smaller (IMHO).
Especially as I think you're selling your Noble on a whim and don't really want to anyway wink

Oh and just so you're fully aware of what you're getting into, a stroker kit is a longer crank allowing an increase in capacity. Relatively popular among japanese tuners.

I understand your point, i do know the difference between a 3 and 3R on Noble , but this is a learning curve for me on Skylines, so i appreciate you advice and am taking it on board.
I just talked to the guy to get some more information about the car, as i expected he laughed when i asked is it a GTT, he listed too many upgrades for me to remember and most of the maunfacturers i had never heard before, what i do remember is 28/35 hks ball bearing Turbo, greddy intercooler, greddy exhaust, cusco suspension kit, brembo brake kit, something about "dune"? parts in the engine, apparently he has upgraded everything, he says there is nothing standard on the car. All too much for me to take in for one conversation but he says he is going to bring me all the spec and receipts for upgrades. As long as i can sell it on for the money i want, it will be ok, they are jap car mad over here, hopefully i shouldn't have too much trouble selling it on.

Urbal, was it advertised/sold to you as a GTT or a GTR? Why would someone put R badges on a lesser model unless it was in the hope for it to be perceived as better version. It's like M badges on a 316.
If you want to change, swap it for a Cayman S until the Fenix appears which was your original plan I believe?
This somehow just smells fishier than a fishy thing in a fish restaurant, no wonder the other bloke is bloody keen!
And well done clap to the others here for the heads up for Urbal.

It was just sold to me as a Skyline tbh, i saw the R badge on front and thought GTR being the newb that i am, i honestly don't think there is anything fishy about it, this guy was put in touch with me by my very good friend Stavros, who is like a brother and is very knowledgable on Jap cars, he knows this car personally, he knows its history and told me it is a very good car, and told me what i can sell it on for so i could work out the Px difference money wise.
You are right this started with me wanting to sell the car to buy the Fenix, but if you read my other post on "Noble is sold " thread, things have changed since then, i am leaving the fast car world behind me altogether due to the new strict speeding laws in Cyprus, after i sell the Skyline i will be looking at something like an Opel Safira smile
Facing a 1 month prison sentence for doing over 90mph is not a good prospect for me being a family man and having dependents.
Until they get a racing track over here, fast cars are no longer an option for me.
I will still pop in to the forums to say hello though SJC and to see if you got a new exhaust yet etc.. smile

Urbal, how about buying a low powered Caterham/Westfield jobbie with skinny tyres etc? You won't be breaking too many speed limits but still be having some fun? And if I get a new exhaust you'll be the first to know,'cos either I'll tell you or you'll trawl my posts to find out!;)

Hi Urb,

I am sorry but no GTT is worth that, the price differance between the GTT and the GTR is around 4x not double.

The mods, are never worth the money they cost.

some examples here....

GTR
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1437589.htm

GTT

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1247214.htm

That Car will be a LOT harder to sell than the Noble.

People will always go for the better looking, better handling, better spec'ed GTR that a gtt(even with 700bhp).

Alex

Maybe in the UK it would be harder to sell, and thank you for your concern as i know you mean well, but this is Cyprus, they are jap car crazy and are heavily into tuning/modifying them.

I know your saying the car is not worth that much, but i think that is because you do not know the cyprus market and taxation system, take any car in the UK and double the price and then you have your price of the same car in Cyprus.

look at how much this Skyline is going for in Cyprus 60,000 euro

http://www.autotradercy.com/0-22181_car_2001_nissa...

and then compare to a similar car in the UK, 27,000 gbp

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2009...

I talked to my good friend Stavros again about the car and apparantly the GTT will sell much easier than a GTR, because it is much cheaper(larger market) and because it is so highly modified(which Cypriot find very desirable), also apparently the GTT is more popoular over here because of its RWD,(its a drifting thing)

We will in time see when i come to sell but i trust Stavros, he owns Nastama Performance and knows every tuned car in the Larnaca area personally, he is the main authority on these cars, if he tells me i can sell it on at a certain price then you can take it as gospel.

I want to get this part of the deal done while its on the table, then i can sell on the Skyline, after all its half the price of the Noble, so i will have got half the money in the bank and then will have an easier/cheaper car to sell, which will have a much bigger market than the Noble.

Thanks for all the advice guys, but i think i am still going with the PX, i very much doubt my friend Stavros is wrong about its value, he set up the deal and is a very close friend and if i back out it will make him look bad with Cristos(skyline guy) and at the end of the day Stavros will want to know why i backed out of the deal and i can't say its because i don't think the Skyline is worth what you say it is, that is like telling the Stig he doesnt know how to drive, i am not going to insult him by saying he does not know the value of the Skyline.

The value of the car is all i am interested in at the end of the day, car prices are very different from UK to Cyprus.
