PS3 Backup Help

Hello, I'm having to backup my PS3 as it's broke and may not get the same system back from Sony so I need to backup everything.

Does System Settings > Backup Utility save the Save Game Data, User Accounts Settings & Network Settings (basically anying I'll need to restore) for ALL the accounts on the PS? or would I have to do it on each account?

user account setting and your router config etc dont worry about that, easy enough to reconnect to the internet and sign into the PSN, its just games saves if you bothered you need to backup

So have I got this right?

I need to save each Game Save Data individualy to the external drive then copy that data to the PC & repeat for each user account?

Use the backup utility. Some game saves are locked so you can't copy them individually off the PS3 HD. I think the backup utility copies locked game saves though.

That is correct, i had to Backup my HD when i changed it for a bigger one. I was worried that my locked games would not get saved. Using the Backup Utility moves everything

Excellent, thank you very much. There would be nothing worse than losing everything.

Sorry 1 last question. I know you said it backs everthing up but just double check does it also save all the online contacts for all acounts?

No, they are all saved on your account. When you log back into your PSN account with your new system all your contacts will be there.
