Hello guys,

I'm planning costs for project and the Dymag Carbon Fiber Wheels are a must. I want to order the exact same set as the ones owned by LuckyP. Could some body please help me with dimensions, price? also, where can I get those wheels online ?

One more question for luckyP, what sort of affect did the wheels have on the performance, stability, handling and steering of the car ?

I'm affraid you might struggle. Dymag appear to have folded. Mine were the first Ultima set, designed from dims taken from my Factory rims which I gave them for a week.

Performance is very difficult to tell. At the same time as the wheels I had an engine rebuild, geo and gears change. So I don't know really.

The only thing I can confirm is that they made the car drive and extra foot from the kerb!!! Wierd, eh? laugh

Does everything I want have to either get married, bankrupted or be illegal? frown

That’s not fair! I also want my car to drive an extra foot from the kerb!! frown

What about Dymag US ? is there any chance that those guys have their own equipments and are still in production? Is there any chance that the person who bought the equipment is going to resume carbon fiber wheel production on a different brand name?

What I’m going to do now? The carbon fiber wheel was the only option that I was sure I wanted. It was even cooler than a carbon fiber toilet seats or a carbon fiber statue molded from Jeremy Clarkson’s head ! frown

Thanks Crafty!

I know that THERE are expensive (extremely expensive). But, I guess that its my only choice right now. I have already sent them an email to enquire about the price smile. But taking a guess, they will charge me about $15g or more.

They have not replayed yet, but I would defiantly consider them if they quoted that price. Yet, I still love the Dymag more. The center piece are magnesium and does extend to the outer rims. this means that the wheels should be lighter and should look visually larger.

Thank you Scott,

I tried to search for more information about their new line but came up with almost nothing. However, I should say that I loved their EV1R wheel. I believe that it would look cool on an ultima. smile

Forgeline carbon wheels are not yet available. Maybe sometime late in 2010.

What a shame .. frown

and HRE did not even care to replay.. >_>

Well, I guess I'm forced to go with Frogline EV1R until another real carbon fiber option is presented. frown

I have recently returned from the CCW facility in Florida. I have ordered a set of thier C10 wheels. The set of wheels will cost just under $3k. Weight of the rears is 20lbs and ounces the fronts are 18 and a bit. These are one peice forged rims. I got to see the forgings the CNC equipment ect. Run out will be below .010. John the owner of CCW offered that different wheel designs that CCW offers would be slightly lighter but I like the C10s. I will post further as this goes on. Lee

yikes Crafty, I remember seeing that photo some time ago in a thread here but still gives me shivers. Looks like a central locking wheel, no? Don't know if the technology is ready for these type wheels. Don't think F1 and other racing categories use carbon wheels. Apart from show, I wouldn't want to try this on a 200 MPH run or any other instance IMO
