Looking for a decent iPod or MP3 player with a DAB radio to use in my car? Any recomendations...

Is that what this iPod Nano does? Don't mean to be thick but it's not clear to me if this is just an FM radio or if it's a DAB player too? http://www.apple.com/uk/ipodnano/features/fm-radio...

Reason being, my wife just swaped her car for a Boxster which does not have a multi CD changer fitted but does have an 'Aux input', also she loves to listen to cricket which is often on BBC 5 Xtra. So what to look for? scratchchin

Nano is just a FM radio. I think Apple have decided that DAB does not conform to their standards and must mature a bit before they will consider adopting it. Give it another 10 years or so. wink

DAB is worse quality than FM often, I'd go for a normal radio tongue out

Ah didn't realise 5Live Extra was just on DAB biggrin

I've heard good things about the iRiver range, I think some of them do DAB.

I use a Roberts robi with my 4th Gen Ipod Classic (or is it 5th Gen).

http://www.robertsradio.co.uk/Products/DAB_radios/...

It's a DAB / FM / Ipod Remote control. I mainly use mine for when I'm at football matches so I can listen to BBC 5live/ 5live extra/ talksport etc. It takes its power from the Ipod.

I've just tried it on my brother Iphone 3GS and it works, the Iphone actually shows a message saying that it's not compatible and do you want to turn on flight mode or something.

Edited to say it does work on the 3GS as I originally said the remote didn't.

I have had an iriver e10 for the past 5 years and it has been excellent.

The only thing I would be worried about with a MP3 player radio is the ability to get signal compare to a normal car radio and attached aerial

Yeah, I realised the aerial might be a problem with it stuffed in the armrest cubby which is where the aux connector is... scratchchin

What about a dedicated dab rather than an mp3 player? I guess they're not very big etc.
