Has anybody done one of the night time ghost hunts anywhere?
I am not a massive believer in this stuff but on April 24th the wife and i are going to Edinburgh for the weekend, taking part in a ghost hunt in the Edinburgh vaults on the saturday night.
If any of you have seen Most Haunted they did a Halloween special from there a while back.....have to say its got me a little worried.... yikes

Its my own fault, it was a christmas present to the OH, thought it would be something different....

Did it a few years ago. Found the hilariously hammy students and out of work actors involved made it very difficult to keep a straight face.

Have a few drinks first.

I keep hassling my missus and her sister to take me round the Stratford Upon Avon night ghost tour. They used to work there and saw and heard lots of un-explainable goings-on.

I'm super-critical of 'the afterlife' but I'm also really curious to see what people see or feel.

One day!

This yes

Did the tour a few years ago, it was funny but not scary in the least.

Have a few whiskies, it helps get into it all. It really is about as scary as day old rice pudding though.

I did this a few years ago too, we were pissed by the time we went on it. One of the actors pretended to faint, much to the shock and horror of the believers. When I drunkenly dived in to administer first aid, the 'patient' was more horrified than the people she was supposedto be scaring and recovered remarkably, doing a runner in about 3 seconds hehe Was highly amusing at the time.

No-one else fainted. rofl

My mate did that and left somewhat spooked with a wee stain on his jeans smile

we had a group come to our own place twice last year for an all-night vigil. They made a DVD of it all afterwards. Mrs ALC took part - some strange goings on and some fascinating findings. Our grown-up sons also took part and now refuse to stay overnight in one cottage!

I've been in a load of so called haunted places over the years, even going into a tower room in Fernie Castle by myself one night which the medium leading the tour wouldn't go into, due to it being 'possessed by a demon' or some such horse sheeite. It was on a halloween ghost tour we went on years ago for a few laugh. She nearly shat herself when I said sod it, I'll go in then.

Guess what? Nothing. No demonic scratches present upon me on exit. No speaking in tongues.

I also, for a bet when I was a kid of about 19, went a walk around a ruined 'haunted' priory near me. And again. Nothing.

Lets just say I'm not convinced about the whole ghost thing then.

Never done one myself, but I have listened to them on Alan Robson's Nightowls. He goes to various haunted places and invites people to stay the night at them too.

Might be worth looking up when he is next doing one. You get to be on radio and everything hehe

We did one a few years back too, and tbh I took the above as the intended way to treat these tours anyway. The student narrator hammed it up superbly, and the hilarious "surprise" at the end was to be expected. Worth doing one of you're in town imo.

And don't forget to visit the whisky museum wink

I'd be well up for that, let the listeners hear me snoring away!
