fuel filler cap in db9

A question for Rick really......my filler cap fell into about 4 pieces tonight when i went to fill up.....not had the car for 2 months due to work being carried out , ever heard of this happeninng before?...and apart from getting new cap (do i need to get Aston one or will Sainsbury's one do?)...any other owners had this problem?

Yes it happened to me a few weeks ago.......rebuilt it in about 5 min....not difficult

all just screws together......sussed it ......but how can i stop it happening again?

It's a problem with the Aston Filler cap, happened to me a few times, it's easy to put back together just pisses you off when other people in the garage fill up and go and your still there fiddling with the dam thing!!!

If car is still under warranty , can get new filler cap altogether.
