Sorry to butt-in on this forum, but could do with some help.

I have a Lola race car with a 3200cc 911 Porsche engine/box and custom headers etc.

I need to silence the car for hillclimbs to max 109dB @ 2/3rds Red Line.
I have some huge aftermarket silencers on the car that I think are robbing me of bhp (and just 108 dB.

Any thoughts on other suppliers of silencers that might do the trick better?
I have only 12 to 14'' of free length but can go to a fair diameter of about 6'', 2'' inlet diameter.
Hope you might have some ideas.

I'd read this thoroughly prior to making a final selection. Your exhaust components should be very closely matched to your engine parameters and, as such, I think that it might be better for you to look for help in the Porsche section of this site or speak with your engine builder.

Best of luck science, wink

Thanks for the details.
Just had a look through the article, and most interesting.

The motor is stock except for the weber instead of the 1980's bosch injection.
Done all the primary 'secondary lengths so will focus on the silencers.
Thanks again, Graham.

There is a lot more room in an Ultima than my Lola that's for sure...
