Ok i'm off out for the first time in ages. Its a reunion and obviously i'm no longer a young kid. So as a casual dress for asn old fart would you wear your shirt tucked in or out.

Is it considered a bit chavvy to wear it out?

Appologies for such a crap question and sounding like some women wondering what to wear but i thought i'd ask.

So gents in or out?

Cheers.

Post a poll... actually, no need. The answer is:
Long sleeve = in.
Short sleeve = out.

HTH.

In. As long as you have a nice belt. And a waistline, obviously.

Also, look at the design of the bottom of the shirt. If it's got a longer swoop at the front and back and higher at the sides then "In". If it's straight across the bottom, then "out".

Dress code?

With jeans, out. Be sure that the shirt isn't too long or you'll look odd. Belt optional.
"Smart casual", in. With a belt.
Suit, well, guess!

Try it out. Have a damned good look in the mirror. If you get flashbacks of a Steven Seagall movie or mental images of dwarves you'll have to tuck it in and find a belt.

Silly suggestion, I know, but why not do what you feel most comfortable with?

Worrying about other people's opinions is a waste of time and not worth stressing over.

I dont normally but at the wrong end of my 30's i dont want to come across as a bit chavvy if that makes any sense.

Thanks for the input chaps.

With jeans and smart shoes I'd wear it in and with a belt. Bit chavvy to have a long sleeve shirt out IMHO, especially with smart shoes on.

ALWAYS in. An untucked shirt is just not right.

Depends what YOU think.

Why tuck it in on somebody elses say so if you feel like a tit ? Equally, why have it free and loose if you feel like a chav ?

Be yourself - if that means having it out, being chilled and relaxed and enjoying the night, crack on. If it means tucking it in, feeling restricted just to please others and looking kind of 'old' but you're happy with that, do it.

HOWEVER - a good idea would be to turn up with it not tucked in (so as not to crease it) but wearing a coat that hides it all. Check out the general dress sense of others and adapt to suit in the gents. thumbup

Depends on your beer belly.

I almost always wear shirts untucked if wearing jeans, I just feel more comfortable which is probably quite important on a night out.

depends on the shirt.

However if it is cut to be tucked in then TUCK IT IN! Otherwise it just looks a mess and you will look like a proper pikey.

If however it is a nice fitted jobby with no tail then out is fine. Also belts are ALWAYS worn, trousers just don't look right with empty belt loops.

(ten years ago) If it was a proper night out clubbing: 'Sweaty tops off' was the sign of a quality night on the dance floor!

Currently sat on the sofa with a jumper on... oh the ravages of time frown
