Budget accommodation for Monaco
Discussion
I'm looking for accommodation to complete my 'Monaco as cheap as possible' arrangments.
I've been researching the Nice/Menton areas and Hostels (or camping) are definite options. However, I've been struggling to find info on the web - Some campsites don't seem to take bookings but this seems high risk on a race weekend to me!
Incase it helps anyone else, I've found flying to Milan and arranging a hire car has offered us huge savings over flying to Nice. (Estimated costs are similar to driving the Eco-car from the UK - but it's a lot quicker).
Can anyone recommend cheap places to stay? I'd like to be near the train line for access to Monaco on race day - even better if it's walking distance to the train station so I can enjoy beers in Monaco on the Saturday evening... Thanks in advance.

Mind you having said that just looked again and the Fairmont seem to have space? see link? it is not guaranteed but you have to pay and then they tell you if there is any room or they do not take payment!!

Drive is past Genova but doesn't seem too bad. I took this from AA routeplanner
From: Milan, Italy
To: Monaco
Distance: 186.0 miles - Time: 3 hr 00 min
I think it took me nearer 5hrs (allowing for stops - elapsed was longer) a few years ago. From: Milan, Italy
To: Monaco
Distance: 186.0 miles - Time: 3 hr 00 min
Wasn't going for it by any means, but not really dawdling either. Once you get on the smaller roads, much depends on traffic. And at GP time (I was there that weekend)...
