Quick Play Problem

I have a HP Pavilion laptop , i am watching a lot of EVE on it recently but have a problem with quick play

Put the dvd in and the drive will click a few times then go into a sort of spasm reving up and down it seems this would go on indefinatly if you did not eject

when it does this nothing shows up as being in the drive , other times it will work fine and it is not the DVDs fault as one that did not load will maybe load latter


Any ideas
