It all started when I noticed just before Christmas that my front tyres were bald on the inside so I took the car to get a new set and get the alignment corrected as it must have resembled the cartoon car Brum, the speed, the tread had disappeared.
That's when the fun started!
I was advised to get new discs, so I thought that this would be a good excuse to get the slightly larger discs but having an earlier Cerbera that was not possible (so I thought.)The discs were delivered and work began and shortly afterwards my phone rang. I was told to come over and take a look.
They had found when removing the callipers that my car had not had the new spec hubs fitted as a factory recall. Just my luck, well lucky in one way because they showed me the cracks on the original hubs!
So with that I decided to get the larger discs but had not expected to have to get larger callipers and uprights to suit, the list went on and on.....
My credit card has gone into meltdown. But now I have got the car back giving a good clean and been out for a short blast and have forgotten all the hassle I have had.
Boy they are great cars - it's never been more stable and it's been worth every penny.
If anyone requires new 4.2 discs and pads or my second callipers that work fine give me a call before I get round to putting them on ebay. (07973346709)
Happy motoring!

think its me not explaining my self my, first problem was with the bit which has the calliper bolted onto it (upright) and the that sit behind the wheel bearing hub which i think did not have to changed but the top wish bone did which i think i have miss understood being the uprights.still making my way through the stack of invoices!

<insert rude word>
about a week late on the disks. I've just succumbed and replaced mine last week.

Where did you get the bits and what did you replace. How big disks did you go to?

The upright is the bit that you would call a hub on a normal car. The hub on these is the bearing assembly with the wheel studs. My car has a sticker underneath the VIN plate the says "upright recall complete". Bad luck tho mate, at least it was found before anything had a chance to completely fail! I dont suppose you took any pictures of the old hubs?

Leatherhead motors carried out the work as they had it for new tyres and wheel alignment.Think they were glad to see the back of me,but i would happily recommend them.Got a good price on goodyear fi tyres.
Racing Green got all the parts that were needed and i have now got 322mm discs with tuscan calipers,Ta T3 upright front suspension to get the camber correct and loads of bits and pieces to go with it all. They were also very helpfull.

I remember when my second cerb had the recall, which is now in Cerb heaven. I went through two sets of front tires due to the old hubs with the inner wear, did TVR refund for tires... did they f$%K

Who are Leatherhead Motors? Not heard of them in on TVR threads. I think I know which town they are in ;-)

Just re read my post and I must seem a right bloody numpty.

What I was trying to say was whats the difference between the
upright that was recalled and the replacement.

My car does not have a recall sticker though everything seems
in good order having done a lot of work on the suspension/brakes
whilst owning the car.

Hence the question, its also been serviced by TVR main and Indy dealers
all its life, but still have a niggle in my mind.

My car also had has been serviced by main dealers looking at the hand book record sheets and i have had it serviced at various indies since.
Luckly for me when it was at Leatherhead Motors there is an x tvr guy working there from TVR Mole Valley and had done the recall mods there.
Apparently the old hubs are not made out of solid piece so they crack appears on the seam joint.
