HI every one, have not been on here for a while,as doing some bits and bob,s to griff, can anyone tell me what the size ,by that i mean length ,of the spings are on the front and rear,s also what is the internal diameter of the spring,s and LB/IN of the springs ,please don,t be to (tech) with your answers as i am a humble painter not a mechanic many thanks again in advance ,paul
I use uprated Eibach springs
Front; 450lbs, length 9"
Rear; 400lbs, " 9"
These are good for mixed track and road use, the standard spring rates are far too soft.
I believe standard are,
Front, 325lbs
Rear; 275lbs.
I am sure that my old standard springs were different lengths, (front to rear), but that doesn't matter if you are using dampers with adjustable spring seats.

You are right Peter, I hae the 'standard' spring rates on my Gaz setup and I ground the backside on backroads.Front; 450lbs, length 9"

Its quite a jump from F: 325 to 450 and R: 275 to 400 though, is the ride still comfortable? Everyone comments how comfy my Griff is, but its a real handful to drive on smaller A and B roads, so I've been considering a change of springs for a while - especially as I'm touring through France/Spain to the Costa del Sol in July.
I first increased to standard + 20% for the "bottoming out" reason.
These worked well for road use but were still a little soft for the track.
After speaking with several people in the know I changed to the existing set up which I thought might probably be too hardcore.
It actually isn't!
The advantage is that you can turn the dampers down for the road and have a complient ride, but for the track you can click 'em up, (but not as far as I had to before), for a firmer ride.

I wonder if the +20% comes from 275 * 20% = 325
So you buy a pair of 400lb springs and put them on the front, and move the fronts to the rear?
The springs are the same physical dimensions front and rear I believe?
+20% sounds like an interesting compromise for someone who rarely hits the track.
And if its still not enough you buy a pair of 450lb for the fronts and move the 400lb to the rear
