Just had my new Fridge Freezer arrive and the guy said to leave it 6 hours before plugging it in, now i know you're not supposed to plug it in straight away but six hours? The manual says just to leave 2-3 hours once plugged in to get to temperature but nothing about when to plug it in.

Anyone know?

I would leave 24 if I were you.

In nutshell, tip fridge over (I transport it) and then turn on without waiting = damaged fridge.

For the sake of a day it eliminates the risk of any damage.

You need to let the refrigerant settle again after it has been sloshing around in the cooling circuit. If you don't, you run a small risk of the compressor not having enough gas/liquid to work with. (I think)

I thought it's about fridge freezer you put in a computer or the other way round. Anyway, i just plug them straight in, reason be, I have 12 months warranty and if they are Ok for 1 year, they didn't suffer any damage.

I think the most sensible thing to do is to switch it on the morning after delivery.
Remember that when you first switch it on the drop in temperature will create a vacuum inside making it impossible to open the door until the pressure equalises a few hours later.
